From cats on old rusty trucks to haunted Victorian mansions, if it shows caricature or if I see caricature to add, you will see me sketch it in pen and color it with watercolor. Urban sketching is another way to add life to the world around us and my ink sketches give me a way to express that life.

Transparent watercolor has been a favorite medium since I was a kid. The spontaneity, the fluidity, the unknown all play a significant role in my portraiture and art. Recently I have added opaque watercolor or gouache to the mix as well. You see more of these two mediums working together on my site soon.

If you can’t tell… I love to draw. Draw with pencil, with nib and ink, marker pen, or even digital pen, I love to explore the fluidity and brokenness of line. My favorite subjects are portraits, horses, and man made objects in general.
